The cock crows, birds whistle in the air,
Mr. Hippo goes back to his home- the lake,
Flamingoes flapping their wings on the still waters,
A sign of a new day
The town dwellers, up and down the streets they go,
Cars, bicycles, lorries, handcarts, tractors,
Hooting carelessly in the streets,
A sign of a new day.
In the village, the milk man roams about declaring his presence,
The wind blows softly, sweeping the dew on the grasses,
Smoke is seen at everyone’s homestead,
A sign of a new day.
For it is a new day,
Let‘s forget about the past – yesterday,
Fight for the future, because it is right at our hand,
And try to accomplish our dreams, for it is a new day.
